Surfers Point is on the Prevelly coast near Margaret River, where low rock shelves and patches of sand face the Indian Ocean.
The print looks along the shore from above. Green vegetation and ochre rock fill the near side, while blue water opens across the right. A few white marks break up the sea, with the coastline kept low in the frame.
What this print shows
I chose the elevated shoreline rather than a close wave because it gives Surfers Point a physical address. The low vegetation and alternating sand and rock create the rhythm, while the open water supplies scale. Temporary event material, plaques and people were removed so the landscape remains recognizable without borrowing a competition's identity or claiming a particular day's surf. Every line stays subordinate to the coast.
