The record
Hoddevik lies in Stad on Norway’s west coast. Its farms, fields and sandy bay form a cultivated coastal landscape, with steep slopes on either side.
The print looks down towards the beach. A road folds across the hillside before the land flattens into fields beside the sand. Green slopes fill both sides, with the blue-green bay opening in the middle.
What this print shows
Three large turns give the slope its rhythm. Their pale line crosses broad yellow-green planes, and four small orange roofs provide the only reliable measure of scale.
At the bottom, rectangular fields meet a thin cream beach and a calm turquoise band. No breaking wave is invented. The close mountains and descending road are enough to name Hoddevik.
