Jardim do Mar occupies a small coastal platform below the steep slopes of southwest Madeira. In the village, the present Church of Our Lady of the Rosary was blessed in 1907.
The print puts the village on the right, with cream walls, orange roofs and the church tower above a long waterfront wall. Blue Atlantic water fills the left. The wall is shown as part of the altered waterfront, not as an ancient fortification.

I used the waterfront wall to gather the houses into one readable shape. The church tower breaks the roofline, and the steep mountain planes press down from the upper right.
